Sportswear Company Canterbury go Bust Leaving Surridge to Save AU Kit
The European branch of the sportswear company Canterbury of New Zealand has become one of the latest victims of the current economic climate. This is not only an issue for large clubs such as Portsmouth FC, but has meant that the AU’s deal for Canterbury sportswear has also fallen through.
This has paved the way for a smaller sportswear company Surridge to take over.
The AU has once again been hit by another company failing to fulfill their Canterbury kit order after they went into administration. However, kit supplier Ikon have taken the contract and applied it directly to the Surridge brand. Surridge is an up-an-coming sportswear brand and has shown some very good samples to the AU which have passed highly scrutinising checks and will fulfill the order for the 2009/10 season.
AU kit has been standardised this year to create an AU ‘brand’ and will include an AU Logo rather than the University’s Crest.
