At the end of June 2009, the UPFC went to Chicago to test themselves against some of the top sides in the USA in a two week long tour. The Soccerette Academy organised and ran the tour for the club, and every single aspect was a huge success.

Just under 20 students flew to Chicago with Soccerette Director, Tom Lloyd, and Head Coach, Lee Moyce, to challenge teams such as Chicago Fire in their own back yard. Canterbury of New Zealand sponsored the kit and the lads were well prepared for the tough training and matches that lay ahead, and they did not disappoint. They reached the Quater Finals of a large tournament and also beat National Champions Chicago Fire U23’s 5-2 in the final ’show-piece’ fixture of the tour.
