Every year the University of Portsmouth Football Club enters into BUCS leagues that start during October. As a result, trials for the 150 places we have within the club are held during the same week as Freshers’ Fayre at the start of each University year. We are highly visable at the Fayre; please come and talk to us and we will give you all the information you will need to attend trials.

The women’s teams have shown phenominal growth over the last 3 years and their first team are now in the BUCS Premier League; the highest possible league they can play at within University football. Their second team also play at a good standard. If you would like more information on how to play for the women’s teams, please visit our ‘Committee‘ page and contact our Women’s President, Kirstie White.

The men’s teams, too, have grown over the last few years and are at a postion now where it is difficult to accommodate people after the trial period at the start of the year. Returning members are put through a rigorous pre-season training programme to ensure they return for the new season at the peak of their ability. Unfortunately, as a result, there are only a limited amount of places we can offer within our 96 member allocation for our 6 BUCS teams. This means that after the trials process, we cannot accept any new members into the club to play for our teams. If you have bought an AU Membership from the Students’ Union, please visit our ‘Committee’ page and contact our Men’s President, Andrew Stass, and he will discuss with you possibilities to train with our current squad.
